As a millennial, traveling is very much apart of my lifestyle because it provides a seat at the table for global discovery. Through many explorations, I’ve witnessed the impact of social disparities faced by girls around the world. Suddenly, traveling began to feel hollow and I challenged myself to create away to use my superpowers, while empowering the next generation of girl leaders - - “Believe In What You Dream”.

100% of donations will go to secure supplies for the girls in the villages. All donations are tax write eligible.

The Impact Goal

I first started this journey 2 years ago in Nigeria as proof of concept to show this would be valuable in the market. Last year, I funded this project by investing all proceeds from Yarn Movement to host 30 girls, ages 12-17 at Project Soar in Morocco. After, seeing the response from the girls, I set the goal to make a larger impact.

This year, I need your help! We are heading to East Africa July 11th to empower 300 girls! Yarn Movement has partnered with Vallejo Sister City Association, Bonergies Global Charitable Fund and Pelisa Energy to make a collaborative impact. In the past, there are two social aspects that were not addressed:

1) Personal Care & 2) Personal Energy.

There are girls missing school weeks at time because they have no access to sanitary napkins and cannot study at night because their schools villages/towns go dark at sundown.

Yarn Movement has partnered with Vallejo City Sister Association, Bonergies Global and Pelisa Energy to make a collaborative impact. Not only will we help young girls discover their superpowers, but we will provide solar energy systems simultaneously for the schools, health centers and children.

Our funding goal is $30,000 with a deadline of July 1st. If our goal is met, 300 girls will receive a “Dream Girl Kit”, (the kits includes all materials needed for the creative workshop i.e. yarn, hooks, journals, pens, scissors, etc.; a personal supply of sanitary napkins & underwear; and a personal solar lamp.)
